We still need help and participation.

Renowned musician and theatre director Kai Bredholt from the Odin Teatret (Denmark) will direct and choreograph a “dramatised concert” (multi-disciplinary performance) with willing participants interested in doing a cultural barter (exchange.)

We want to tell the story of our locality through songs and poetry. The event will involve a concert, open to the public (free), where selected participants would perform in a way they are comfortable with (i.e reading a poem, driving a tractor, playing an instrument, dancing, singing a song, showing their technical skills, other) to the background of a repertoire of Danish and Mexican music performed by visiting Artistic Directors and selected pieces performed by participating Irish musicians and singers. There would be food served to both participants and audience towards the end of the concert.

The aim is to foster local participation in the arts in a non-traditional way. Socially and culturally, we want to promote local pride, ideas and opportunities.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of Wexford County Council: Arts Departmentwcc-logo-bilingual_6
